It is a great pleasure to have you visit my website. I am so pleased to provide services in such an exciting field. I am a practicing artist and business co-owner of a ceramic art business called Centered Pottery www.centeredpottery.com While my mate does all of the production, I work at the marketing and management end of the business. I do have some artistic projects all of my own however. I write small productions for theater on topics related to social justice and environmental issues. I studied Anthropology at Sonoma State University and went on to study at New College of California.

While at New College, I studied a form of art. My focus was on Natural and Green Building Design. I intend to eventually build my own home one day with my own two hands from local sustainable materials.

My love for building design actually began early in life at about age six. My grandfather, with whom I spent a lot of time, was a concrete finisher. He was also a sculptor in my mind, it just happened that his medium was concrete and his works of art were floors, roads and sidewalks. He developed his trade as a “real art” and took “concrete” very seriously, standing out as one of the best in his field.

He always requested blueprints of the homes he worked on. After use, the prints piled up in the dining room forming mounting piles. The mess did not at all please my grandmother, but I took a great liking to the piles. I rolled each one of them out on the floor and studied the lines and symbols extensively. I chose the details I liked of each home and began to draw my own plans for a future dream home complete with a petting zoo and dance room with a snowball mirrored disco light and DJ stand. My grandfather encouraged this process by teaching me how to scale the models and prints I drew. He also made me privy to what each of the symbols on the prints meant. By seven I was a real pro, but I am a little disappointed my grandfather never told me about an engineer scale. That would have saved me so much time all those years!

Future Plans: include founding Art projects for inner city youth including Graffiti Art as a form of “true” history lessons, Hip Hop and Zydeco Dance and Interactive Community Art that gives youth a sense of pride, joy and purpose. In addition, I would like to work in the area of Art as a force for peace and unity and as a healing mechanism for veterans of war. Research for these projects is currently underway. In addition I am currently composing an art marketing book entitled Art, My Life, My Path, My Decision.
Final Note: Whether working on my own art or facilitating the creative paths of other artists, I find that helping others is what gives me the most pride and truest feeling of purpose in life. (a passion I also attribute to my late grandfather who taught me so much about life).
